rosinhas, minhas favoritas

driven by ideas
a cartoon from "the new yorker cartoon bank".
understanding me
some great stuff from "Understanding Me", Marshall McLuhan:
record, memorize, regurgitate
enhance, reverse, retrieve, obsolesce
the things you used to just get by come back to you as art, to help you to survive the endless stretching of your heart.
the things you make, they mimic you. you shape your tools and they shape you.
all technologies are languages. language itself is the supreme technology.
there's just one city in the planet - the planet itself.
information comes from all directions simultaneously. we're living in an acoustic world.
nothing is inevitable provided we're prepared to pay attention.
the trick is to recognize the pattern before it is complete. pattern recognition is the way out of the maelstrom.

mom found this old picture of mine today. I was only 18 months old when it was taken - right after we moved here to Canada. so sweet!
